deep and antialiasing

Unread postby LeoYfver » Fri Jul 13, 2018 10:56 am

Hello! I am a deep novice and wondering about deep and antialiasing. In the images attached I have overdone the filter size on purpose. The beauty and the deep dont match. Does deep understand the antialiasing filtering? And what is the workflow to get around this problem?

Hi,

Indeed, this is a limitation. A box filter is applied to the deep render. If you want the RGB to match the DEEP you have to render it with the box filtering.

Cheers ;)

thanks for the answer!

I have some additional questions:

Is the box filter with 1x1 in filter size?
Is this a limitation to deep in general or to clarisses implementation of deep?
If I want bigger filter size is there a good way to do it in comp with a coverage map or something like that?

Hi,

Yes, the size of the box filter is 1x1.
It's a limitation to Clarisse implementation.
I guess but you will need an ID passe and extract the difference between the two renders.

Cheers !
