Opacity maps & render times

Hello everyone,

I'm using Megascans objects with opacity maps to populate meadows with all kinds of plants. Unfortunately, render times explode in areas with these plants and so far I couldn't find a way to accelerate the entire process. Lighting is done through IBL/HDRI, and no other light sources are involved. Any ideas and hints are very welcome. Many thanks!

Hi there,

First make sure to disable mip mapping on these opacity maps. Otherwise at a distance everything will be considered transparent. Then prefer using clip map instead of opacity or transmission. That should do the trick.
