Adding a mask to the 3D view

Unread postby mettam » Fri Aug 03, 2018 10:24 pm

Hi, is it possible to add a mat-box or mask over the 3D camera view ?

Currently it appears the only way to see the layout through the correct aspect is though a image.

Hi,

In a perspective advanced camera, you have the Fit Mode attribute. Set it to remap and you will see the framing of your camera while looking through it in the 3D view.

Cheers ;)

Are you asking for a gate mask ? Such camera attribute is not available yet but you can use a simple image masks to hide any areas outside of the rendering.
You can also add a geo plane to the camera with constraints.
Another option is to have a box in the center of the camera, which is invisible but acts as the object to clip out the plane.
By changing the size value you can set it to any value you like ..or use a script to do all that with proper calculation ...
