Save and Import PLE format, same as reference?

Unread postby njordstudio » Tue May 14, 2019 7:25 pm

Was looking at something at the page and spotted this "Save/Import (PLE format) does this mean that I can´t open a referenced PLE file when I have bought the Indie license? If so I should not spend so much time setting up objects and materials for a speedy process for future projects.

If this is the case, could I (and others) get the help to port reference scenes to Indie so I (we) am not doing a huge job that will not work later?

Hi there,

No it's not possible. It's stated on our PLE FAQ

Thanks Sam for that fast answer.

Then I should not spend more time doing this under PLE then.

Can I ask why this is not possible? Take me for an example, I use Clarisse to test it out and learn, to see if I someday would buy it. And part of this is to see how fast I can work in it. If I put down days into creating a library reference scene, and are happy with it. Why could I not after buying a license open it? Is there a legal restriction on this or something?

Ok:

I have a studio, 500 PLE licenses and 1 commercial license...

Or I do all my work on the PLE, then I rent Clarisse iFX for a month...

The PLE is to try and learn the software. Not to make/prepare commercial work.

Just think about it... you spent xxx time in PLE, you do not pay for it at all. It would not be fair (might not be a good word for it) if you could just rent Clarisse for a week aand use all the stuff you created in PLE. Isotropix is not the only company doing that, there are many different reasons why this is a good thing.

Ahaaa, I see and understand why you have done it this way. Thanks for clarifying it.

And I really like that you have done a PLE version, it´s a heavy program to learn in the standard 30 day trial. Many more companies should take after this.
