Textures from Substance Painter

Unread postby aios » Fri May 22, 2020 5:12 am

Hi,

I have a newbie question hopefully someone could answer it :)
My asset(rock) has multiple UDIMS and as far as I know, only streaming map file can handle the <UDIM> tag the issue with this type of file texture is that I cant set my texture maps to force luminance and if i use a map file texture i can use the force luminance feature but not the <UDIM> tag.
Does anyone know if this is the correct way to deal with textures coming from substance painter, all this is following this tutorial.

Thank you!

Hi,

Add a reorder node just after the streamed map file and set it to aaaa or rrrr. It depends on how was exported your map. Let me know if it solves your issue.

Cheers ;)

Hi,
Thanks for the reply, I have been doing some test with the reorder node that you mention. And I still don't get the same results as in substance.
Here are some screenshots with the difference.

Hi,

Remember that the technical maps (roughness, normal, etc...) have to be in linear color space. What I see on your screenshots is definitively a color space issue.
